
Founded in 1984 by a small group of surfers in Malibu, California, Surfrider Foundation (SF) is a non-profit organization dedicated to “the protection and enjoyment of the world’s oceans, waves and beaches for all people, through conservation, activism, research and education.” Through more than sixty local chapters, SF counts with over 50,000 members across the United States. Earlier this month, SF introduced a new logo designed by Los Angeles-based 72andSunny.

Hard to fathom, but an interesting article from Fast Company cracks open a conversation as to how a rebrand of US currency could possibly alter, or maybe even boost our global reputation. Currency redesign seems bold; but enjoyable, nonetheless, to see the outcome of creative exercise.

All jokes aside, it was a crazy afternoon. Our offices face the park and the back of the Jonathan Segal’s Kettner Row Homes. We smelled smoke all day but figured it was from some local wild fires that weren’t put out the day prior. As the smell worsened in the afternoon, we went on the inspection knocking on doors and climbing to taller heights. Making the call to the fire department is always a big one, but we did. 3 fire trucks, some broken doors and glass found a pot had been left on all day making a house full of smoke. More chaos than than our quiet neighborhood is used to.
Presented by San Diego Christian Film Festival, Shayne and Shannon MacIntyre will be on hand for the world premiere of On Surfari Haiti as part of the RockPile Bookstore Summer Event Series.
